Find your Inner Bearing

Sometimes we hit a limit we weren't expecting. Tumbling into pain or fear or grief. Something inside us said 'Enough" - something deeper than our awareness usually reaches. Most of us bounce back, move on, walk it off, like our parents told us to. Have you ever been up at night thinking about what all is down there? Who lives in that inner wilderness? Have you ever wanted a map to the places your body stops moving or where your thoughts refuse to go?

Cartography

The inner wilderness is not fully understood by anyone. Every wilderness is its own. What Qi Gong has taught me is ways to navigate, landmarks to track, orientations to maintain, so I can dive deep and return safely. Bringing back maps to share with patients, students and fellow adventurers.

Inner wisdom

Inhabit your body with joy and effortless power. Whether you are seeking restoration or peak performance, the treasure is in your tissue. These practices are the map and compass to help you find it.

 See this in practice.

Healing & vitality

Qi Gong is the practice of intention and attention, coupled with action, to integrate how we know and how we live. This process is applicable to our health, wisdom, communities, and ecologies. And it all starts with a breath.

Get outside

The core techniques

The foundation of Inner Bearing stands on three legs. I distilled my practice to these three alone when I didn't have time for anything else - limiting my practice opened new vistas.

Microcosmic orbit starts with an invitation to move with the breath, over time it illuminates the connection between imagination and internal observation. If you follow it long enough you might find out how deep the rabbit hole goes.

The Eight Brocades moves through every joint and fascial plane, leaving you tall, open, and ready to move with the grace of a tiger. The best warm up for anything, if you have the time.

Standing meditation is about becoming as blissful and strong as the mountains. Deepening both meditation skills and further refining the posture we moved into in the previous exercises. Learning to balance between attention and extension, structure and joy. The hardest of the three to get the hang of but it might just become your favorite.

Deepen your connection

My practice is ever evolving, and I would love to share that journey with you. Learning to navigate, sharing maps and experiences of the inner and outer worlds. If you are called to greater connection with the more than human ecology come to a class, check out the YouTube channel, reach out, and reclaim your Inner Bearing.
